How is the ABS Monitored on the Audi RS 3?

A car with exceptional acceleration abilities needs an equally fierce braking system. Audi engineers built an Anti-Lock Braking Systems (ABS) into the RS 3 with an added intelligence component to combat locking wheels in the case of an emergency. It does not matter if you are driving in Livermore, CA or out on the highway, the ABS work equally well to avoid those sliding situations over which you have no control.

The ABS monitor each wheel through an independent Electronic Control Unit (ECU) that evaluates the rotation rates and compares those rates to the opposite wheel. The ECU sends instructions to two valves on each wheel to either increase or decrease brake fluid pressure to bring the rotation levels of the opposing wheels into balance.

At Audi Livermore, monitor the performance of the ABS during each service to ensure that the system reacts as it should during an emergency.
