The Wagon on Our Wishlist: The 2018 Audi RS4 Avant

To the uninitiated, the 2018 Audi RS4 Avant probably looks like someone nixed the lower body cladding on an Allroad and added more aggressive fenders, bumpers, and a rear spoiler. But it’s so much more. True, this wagon may be related to the one we know and love, but with 450 horsepower and “Avant” in the name, it’s a different sort of beast.

Albeit one we won’t be getting stateside, unfortunately. Audi believes we only like crossovers and SUVs—a surprise considering the number of wagon fans who come out of the woodwork when the four rings launches one. The enthusiast cries for this one are justifiably loud. A twin-turbo V6 sits under the RS4’s hood, with 450 horses and 443 lb-ft of torque sent to all four wheels by an eight-speed automatic enables 4.1-second vaults to sixty from a stop. That alone is pretty impressive, but when you add on the performance additions, and the RS4 Avant takes on even more aggressive dimensions.

Although no plans exist to bring the RS4 Avant to America, a recent softening at Audi Sport has net us the RS3. Perhaps Ingolstadt will have mercy, and finally send this performance wagon here. In the meantime, though, there are plenty of other sporting offerings at our Audi dealership in Livermore, CA. Contact us to learn more.
